Why I Began Looking Beyond Behaviour
Most autism workshops focus on strategies, techniques, or behaviours. This workshop takes a developmental perspective.
Rather than asking, "How do I get a child to do this?", we explore how resilience, flexibility, emotional regulation, and independent thinking develop over time.
Through hands-on activities and guided experiences, participants will not only learn key concepts but experience them in practice.
During the workshop you will:
✔ Participate in experiential activities
✔ Reflect on your own observations and assumptions
✔ Experience guided participation firsthand
✔ Explore real-life examples and video clips
✔ Discuss developmental challenges with other participants
✔ Connect concepts to everyday situations at home and work
This workshop is especially relevant for parents and professionals supporting neurodivergent children, including those with autism, ADHD, or learning differences, while remaining applicable to developmental support more broadly.
✔ Not theory but outcomes.
✔ How children develop adaptive thinking, emotional regulation, and flexibility
✔ Experiencing pacing, co regulation, and guided participation first hand
✔ Practising how to observe children differently and respond with intention
✔ Understanding your role as a guide rather than a manager of behaviour
Participants leave with a clearer developmental lens, practical insights they can apply immediately, and a deeper appreciation of how everyday interactions can become powerful opportunities for growth.
